Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said that both Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane’s consistency has left him impressed
The young wingers played a key role in City’s 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday with Sterling scoring the opening goal of the game from Sane’s cross.
Sterling then wrapped up the encounter by assisting Sergio Aguero for City’s second and final goal.
Like Sane, the former Liverpool player has been on the receiving end of criticism in the past for his performances.
But both of them have made great strides in recent weeks and Guardiola is aware of just how crucial they can be for City.
“It is not only goals that are important for a striker,” Guardiola told the club website.
“The way he arrives in the box, he wants to score. He was also so clever with the assist.
“The pass to Sergio was outstanding. It was another good performance for him.
“Leroy has played really good last few games as well. He will be important for us.
“Our profession is so demanding, we have to do our best every single day.
“I want all of my players to be focused.”
City will face Hoffenheim in the Champions League on Tuesday.
