Pep Guardiola is impressed with how quickly Mikel Arteta has managed to influence Arsenal’s playing style.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised his former assistant Mikel Arteta for his instant impact at Arsenal and feels he is prepared enough not to ask for advice from him.
The Gunners’ hopes of playing in Europe looks all but extinguished as they sit at the ninth position in the Premier League with just 10 games left to play.
An exit from the Europa League at the hands of Olympiakos earlier further blew away their chances of a Champions League qualification.
Regardless, as Metro reports Guardiola is convinced of Arteta’s tenure so far.
“I would say incredibly well in the fact that the ideas he’s already implemented are already in the team.
“His positional game is getting better day by day. Doing that in a short time is not easy. And I’m pretty sure Arsenal will have success in the future with him on the bench.”
The Man City boss was also asked if he had any tips for Arteta to which he replied: “Absolutely not. He’s an adult, he’s more than prepared, he doesn’t need it.
“We talk about family, the first days, how he’s settling in the team, the normal things. We talk about friends, ex-colleagues, we worked together. That’s it.”
