Former Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves insists that while Erling Haaland is a quality striker, he would no start at Bayern Munich.
Erling Haaland, arrived in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund this winter from RB Salzburg.
The young Norwegian has hit the ground running, demonstrating a formidable goal-scoring ability.
Owen Hargreeves believes that if Haaland had gone to a club like Bayern Munich he may have struggled for playing time.
The former United man insists that Dortmund’s leading marksman is a talented striker. But compared to Lewandowski if you could only choose one as per the Bavarian giant’s system.
Then Haaland would be no more than a bench warmer.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, he is adamant Lewandowski is still miles ahead of Haaland.
“Haaland is really special – he makes goalscoring look easy, and it’s not.”
“He’s ridiculously good, although Lewandowski’s pretty good too at Bayern – he scored his 40th goal of the season at the weekend.”
“So even if you could add Haaland, he wouldn’t get into Bayern’s team right now, just because of the way they play with one up front.”
“Bayern don’t really have any weaknesses.”
The statistics don’t lie and based on current form not even Ronaldo or Messi compare to Lewandowski.
