Achraf Hakimi reveals Erling Haaland aspires to finish as the top scorer in the Champions League this season.
Erling Haaland has hit the ground running ever since making a switch to Borussia Dortmund earlier in January.
The 19-year old striker failed to find the back of the net but set up teammate Thorgan Hazard to help his side grab a victory in the battle against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title race.
Haaland scored twice in the earlier Champions League Round of 16 clash against Paris-Saint Germain. With 10 goals to his name, he is only behind Robert Lewandowski in the competition’s goalscoring charts.
And Achraf Hakimi says second place is not where his Norwegian teammate wants to be.
“When you have an attacker like him, a goalscorer who scores a lot, who lives for that, it helps enormously. We hope that he will continue to score for a long time like that,” Hakimi told Tele Foot.
“It is good for the team and he wants to finish as top scorer in the competition.
“We are going to have to reproduce the same match that we did in the first leg. It will be more difficult than at home, but we have to defend together, fight for each other and, with the smallest of openings, score straight away.”
