Achraf Hakimi’s future at Real Madrid is no nearer a resolution after reports of a new contract are rubbished.
Reports surfaced earlier today out of Spain that Hakimi has signed a contract extension with Real Madrid until 2023.
However, the 21-year-old defender’s agent has moved to dismiss these stories as false.
The Moroccan international has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund for two years. His form has been nothing short of sensational, especially this past season.
This has only heightened speculation surrounding his future.
Will he return to Madrid, will they sell him or even loan him back out.
The player has tired his best to remain impartial.
Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano told Goal, nothing has changed and anticipates that all parties will sit down at the end of the season.
“There is no basis at all to the Marca report about Hakimi’s contract.”
“His contract at Real Madrid is still the same one we negotiated in 2017 and it runs until 2022.”
“We have to wait.”
“After this misery (the coronavirus outbreak) we will sit together with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.”
It’s not hard to see why he is so sought-after, but who will he play for next season?
