Hammarby has confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed for them, as a new part owner in the club.
The footballing world was left stunned, but is was another cryptic clue from the enigmatic Swede.
He had signed for Swedish side Hammarby, but not as a player, rather as a new part owner in the club.
Hammarby finally confirmed the move in an official statement through the clubs website, hammarbyfotbol.se.
The statement read:
“This week, representatives of Hammarby Football met with AEG and Zlatan Ibrahimović in Los Angeles.”
“AEG has informed Hammarby that it has sold half of its ownership in AEG Sweden to Ibrahimović.”
“Which in turn means that Ibrahimović becomes part-owner of Hammarby Fotboll AB.”
Ibrahimovic, himself is delighted with his investment.
“Hammarby is a fantastic club with passionate supporters and has great respect in both Stockholm and Sweden.”
” I have always liked the club and the fans, since then I am impressed with what the club has done in recent years, both on and off the pitch.”
” Being able to join and develop Hammarby forward feels both fun and exciting, says Zlatan Ibrahimović.”
This is great news for the Swedish side, but even better news for the teams that were in the hunt for his signature as a player.
The race is back on for Zlatan Ibrahimovic!
