Maguire joined Manchester United this summer for a fee of around €80 million. The defender is tasked with the revival of United’s backline.
A big match is ahead of both Manchester United and Maguire. They will host the European champions.
While the Red Devils are at 12th in the Premier League, Liverpool is on top of the league with eight consecutive wins.
Solskjaer is putting his faith in the newcomer from Leicester. However, Maguire will face his toughest task yet.
All of Salah, Mane & Firmino are playing in a great form, and it’s gonna take a lot from Maguire to stop them.
However, according to Goal, Solskjaer believes Maguire is the man for the job.
“He’s [Maguire] already shown how good he is,” Solskjaer commented.
“He shows us every single day but of course in big games you get more pressure at Man United, and at Liverpool.
“In the big clubs and in the big games, it’s the ones who can step up.
“That shows the character of you and I don’t doubt for one second Harry is going to play a good game against them.”
The Norwegian manager continued with his praise of the English centre-back, adding:
“You don’t buy a player for one type of game,” added the Man Utd boss. “We signed Harry because we can see a leader who can be here for many years.
“But if we can get a great performance from Harry to build on, that’s going to be the catalyst to start from.
“If he can head the ball between the posts when he’s three yards out that would be a good start!”
