Harry Maguire could be set to seal a move to Old Trafford following a routine medical test as Solskjaer looks set for another round of spending.
Manchester United could be set to announce the signing of Harry Maguire as early as this week. Reports claim that the Red Devils are set to make the England international the world’s most expensive defender.
United had been chasing a defender since the start of the summer transfer window. The likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Kalidou Koulibaly had been linked with moves to Old Trafford for quite a while. De Ligt is destined to move to Juventus while Napoli aren’t too keen on letting go of the Senegal international who is reportedly interested in a move to Old Trafford.
And while Harry Maguire had been on the radar for over a year, the Leicester City man was also generating interest from Manchester City. However, it appears that the Englishman will end up signing for the Red Devils who are willing to meet the Foxes’ asking price for their star man.
Although Harry Maguire doesn’t want to force a move, it is believed that the player will eventually sign for the residents of Old Trafford this week.
As reported by The Express, Maguire will have a medical at the club’s facilities today and might even be announced as soon as this week.
The transfer would then result in the club focusing on other targets including Bruno Fernandes. The Portugal international has already agreed personal terms with the club. But it appears that Solskjaer and Ed Woodward aren’t on the same page when it comes to paying the transfer fee.
Woodward is reportedly not keen on paying more than 55 million Euros for the midfielder while the Norwegian has demanded his boss to meet the transfer requirement as he doesn’t want to miss out on the player.
