New Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart has revealed his delight at keeping a clean on his debut for the club.

The England international was delighted to make his debut during the team’s 1-1 draw against Istanbul Basaksehir on Thursday.

The former Birmingham shot-stopper was thrown into the game on Thursday evening despite only joining the club earlier this week.

Hart joined Burnley from Manchester City on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee and immediately showed his level of experience helping the Clarets get a result in Turkey.

“I wasn’t sure of what would happen on the pitch tonight but I think I loved the game.” Hart said about his performance, according to Goal.

“I’ve only been with the team for a couple of days but Anders picked up an injury last night and I had to come in to the team tonight.”

“I thought we were fantastic as a team, we showed some European nous.”

“I absolutely love playing in Europe. The Premier League is great but once you get a taste for the football in Europe, you don’t want it to stop.”

“It wasn’t an easy decision for the coaching staff as I’ve only played two 45 minutes but I’m glad I was able to repay their faith.

Burnley will be hoping to get a good result when Istanbul Basaksehir come to town so as to progress onto the next stage of the Europa League qualifying campaign
