The former Chelsea forward believes Conte has done a magnificent job at Stamford Bridge.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says the criticism towards Antonio Conte is simply ridiculous, because the Italian is doing a great job at the club.

The Blues boss has been under a lot of pressure due to the latest results of his club domestically and in Europe. Chelsea are currently sitting nine points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City and also dropped five points in Europe in their last two games against Roma.

Conte’s position at the club has been put at question, with the club’s owner Roman Abramovich having a personal meeting the Italian coach. However, Hasselbaink is hoping to see the 48-year-old stay in charge for a long period of time.

“I think the rumours are just ridiculous. I think he’s been doing absolutely magnificent.” Hasselbaink told Express Sport.

“I think when you are a manager you always get ups and downs. He’s had a lot more ups than downs.

“It’s normal that he’s going through a little bit of a difficult time.

“I would like to see him at Chelsea for as long as possible.”
