Belgium put four past Russia as they strengthen their position in Group I.

Scoreline: Russia 1-4 Belgium

Scorers: Eden Hazard (x2), Thorgan Hazard, Romelu Lukaku

The Red Devils missed a couple of early chances to get the lead, as Lukaku misfired the shots wide.

Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard was involved in three out of four goals for Belgium tonight. The 28-year old was on fire as he helped his brother open the scoring. Eden passed the ball to Thorgan at the 19th minute who then fired a powerful shot which glided past Guilherme.

At the 34th minute, Lukaku headed the ball and, this time, Eden Hazard was on the receiving end of the pass. The Galactico signing effortlessly put the ball in the back of the net to double Belgium’s lead.

Just five minutes before the half time, Mertens played a wonderful defense splitting volleyed pass to De Bruyne, who laid the ball in a plate for Eden Hazard. Belgium took a comfortable 3-0 lead to half time.

Belgium continued their domination further in the second half. De Bruyne recorded his second assist of the night after Lukaku scored following a pass from the City player. The goal took the Inter forward’s tally to nine in seven matches.

Russia did manage to score a consolation goal late in the game. But it did not add much to save their reputation as Belgium walked away with nine out of nine wins in the group.
