Tony Cascarino has accused Eden Hazard not taking his move to Real Madrid serious enough and now paying the price.

Eden Hazard was accused of arriving at Real Madrid this summer overweight and out of shape.

Despite the Beligian international working hard to regain fitness, he has been a mere shadow of is illustrious self all season.

The Belgian international has failed to live up to expectations and never shown the Madrid faithful the kind of form that convinced the Florentino Perez to pay 100 million Euros for him.

According to Chelsea legend, Tony Cascarino Hazard’s biggest problem is he did not take the move seriously.

Speaking to Talk Sport Cas suggests that Hazard did not realize the magnitude of the transfer and the weight of expectation that would be on him at a club like Madrid.

He said:

“We all know how brilliant Hazard can be, we all know the difference he can make to a football team, but he didn’t take the move to Madrid seriously, and he’s paid for it this season.”

“He turned up overweight, he’s been playing catch-up, he’s getting niggly injuries. Watching him last night was like watching a completely different player.”

“He’s a brilliant player, but he’s paid the price for turning up at Madrid for a big fee and not taking it seriously.

“He does switch off every now and again. As good and as great as he can be, he does down tools every so often.”

Will Eden Hazard eventually come good, or will he join the ranks of worst signing?
