Rio Ferdinand says the calm and collected composure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in front of goal brings back memories of Thierry Henry.

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the star of the day as the Gunners booked their spot in the FA Cup final.

Two composed strikes from the Gabonese international were enough to do the trick at Wembley.

The brace from Aubameyang took him to 66 goals for the Gunners in only 106 appearances.

He has already proven to be a reliable and consistent source of goals since he made his debut in 2018. Asides his goals, the manner in which he is scoring them has something similar to a Thierry Henry-esque finish.

How fitting it is that the 31-year-old is wearing the no 14 jersey once worn by the legendary Arsenal forward.

On a night where Aubameyang proved to be clinical, Rio Ferdinand has nothing but praises for his goals and composure in front of goal.

Ferdinand said as per Daily Mail: “It’s a great goal, the composure was fantastic – played on by Mendy. The young centre-half, Garcia, has got to see that – you’ve got to know who you’re playing against.”

“When there are players who are willing to run in behind you, you’ve got to try to cover that area, but once he’s in there, he reminds you a bit of Thierry [Henry] when he’s bearing down on goal like that.”

“He just opens himself up and places it through the keeper’s legs, fantastic finish.”

Ex-Gunners striker Robin Van Persie also agreed with Ferdinand.

“It was a great pass from Tierney. Aubameyang sees where the danger is and then he has the pace, as well as the control. He takes the extra touch just to find the space through the legs.”

“What I really like as well is that just before he takes his shot, he takes a quick look. Nine out of ten strikers don’t do that.”

The Gunners now have one hand on the FA Cup and will surely fancy their chances of ending the season with silverware.
