A unique blend of technicality and physicality makes Thomas Partey well suited to play in the Premier League, says Kieran Trippier.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has been one of the most impressive and consistent performers in all of La Liga so far this season.
Partey has played a prominent role in helping Atletico knock out defending champions Liverpool over two legs in the Last 16 of Champions League in what was arguably his best performance this term.
He has since attracted much attention from the Premier League, especially from Arsenal. Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his midfield options for the next season and the 27-year old reportedly matches all his requirements.
While refraining to dip much into the transfer saga, a teammate of his, who has extensive experience of English top-flight football, recently heaped praise on Partey.
“I’d seen him play for Atletico but I didn’t realize how good he is,” Kieran Trippier told on The Beautiful Game podcast.
“He’s unbelievable, his physicality, how he breaks up play. Technically he’s got everything. Thomas is still a very young player and everyone loves him out here.
“He speaks perfect English, very good English. I don’t think he’d have a problem with the Premier League. Thomas will fit in perfectly in the Premier League.”
