Verona boss praised his team after their 2-0 win over Sampdoria, highlighting the importance of a good performance that also gives up points.
After four consecutive matches without a win, Hellas Verona finally was able to get a victory by defeating Sampdoria 2-0 in the Italian Lega Serie A.
“The team put in a good, professional and focused performance, pressing when needed, defending when required,” coach Ivan Juric told Sky Sport Italia.
“It was important to get the three points today, as in recent weeks we had only good performances and no points to show for it.”
He added: “When we had games between ranks, nobody ever scored past Kumbulla. He is really focused, he learns quickly, is fast and has good stamina, so he’s doing very well.”
“Sofiane Amrabat is physically strong and can battle it out with anyone. It’s the kind of strength I wish I had when I was a player!”
“The defenders and midfielders are getting to know each other, they are balanced with one a little more aggressive, another more of a thinker,” he commented.
“In attack, we still have choices to make week by week, as we’ll see who is in better form or suited to that game.”
