Dean Henderson must not rush back to Manchester United, Paul Ince believes the goalkeeper should take his time to guarantee himself the number 1 spot.
Dean Henderson has been on the books at Manchester United since he was a youth footballer. He has been tipped as the future number one for both United and England.
The player himself has admitted it is his dream to be United’s first-choice keeper.
However, given the stature of current Red Devil number one David De Gea and Argentine number one Sergio Romero as his back up.
Henderson has found himself farmed out on loan.
The young shot-stopper insists he would rather be loaned out until he gets his big shot. He is adamant he does not want to spend season after season on the bench watching another keeper play.
But speaking to Goal, former United captain Paul Ince thinks it might be too soon and he needs to be patient.
“He has been excellent and excelled himself and he is still relatively young.”
“When someone does well on loan then you begin to think can they do a job or Manchester United.”
“I think at the moment keepers need to be more experienced.”
“He should be happy, he is playing football week in, week out.”
“If he goes to Manchester United and sits on the bench like [Sergio] Romero has done for years, then it isn’t good.”
“If United had a plan and Dean Henderson was in line then I don’t think they would have been stupid enough to give David de Gea a five-year contract.”
“He plays week in, week out, his time will come.”
