Mikel Arteta has dismissed any rumors of Kieran Tierney leaving the club. The Spaniard is pleased with the defender and can only see him improving with time.

Mikel Arteta insists left-back Kieran Tierney will not be leaving Arsenal this summer.

The 23-year-old has been one of the most impressive players for the Gunners since the Premier League restart.

After initial struggles at the club, Tierney appears to be much more settled on the pitch. A string of brilliant performances means he’s now pretty much a regular under Mikel Arteta.

It would appear those performances have caught the eye of Leicester City as well. It has been suggested that the Foxes could move for the 23-year-old. They consider him as a replacement for Ben Chilwell who has been strongly linked with Chelsea.

However, Mikel Arteta has bluntly dismissed any of those speculation. He claims Tierney isn’t going anywhere.

“He’s not going anywhere,” Arteta said as quoted by Evening Standard.

“I really like him.

“I’m very impressed with Tierney. Everybody loves him at the club and he earns that every single day with the way he treats people, the way he works and the energy he brings to the place.”

“And then with his performances, I am delighted. He has adapted really well, he is a player that gives you everything in every session and every game. And the quality he has added as well.”

“He’s still so young, he has things to improve obviously but he’s been a great addition to the team.”

It won’t be the first time Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Tierney.
