The penalty shootout was too much for this boss and he hid in the changing rooms, only for his side to play a hilarious if not horrible prank on him.

The stress of a penalty shootout is often overwhelming. We see those that can’t look, those that pray, and those that cry before it’s even begun. There are apparently those that also hide in the changing rooms too.

In a lower division of English football, it all got too much for Irlam Tigers manager Mike Carts.

Carts refused to watch his side’s penalty shoot-out with FC Unsworth. Instead, he disappeared to the changing rooms.

It was here that things got really funny.

His side ran out 3-1 winners, but instead of putting their boss out of his misery the players played a ruthless prank on him.

They told him they lost. The manager started consoling his players.

Telling them, “keep your heads up.”

The Irlam players couldn’t hold it in any longer and mobbed the gaffer and let him in on the good news.

The celebrations began and Carts couldn’t believe it.
