Mexican winger Hirving Lozano, said that he will work hard to maybe someday be considered to win the Ballon d’Or next to Messi or Ronaldo.

Ever since Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano arrived in European football, the Mexican forward has a dream of someday winning the Ballon d’Or by improving his level of performance.

He recently broke a few records that were even held by Brazilian Ronaldo at PSV Eindhoven during his first season in Dutch football, the second season is actually starting to become even more impressive as he has led PSV Eindhoven to the very top of the league and has already scored 11 goals in the competition this season.

But Dutch football might not be big enough for Lozano in a few years, the Mexican player has been growing his prestige exponentially and he is already considered one of the most exciting young talents in European football.

The type of skills he’s been showing to the world can already be measured as world-class, there are several clubs interested in signing him in the future and nobody denies that he will get to become one of the best players in the world sometime in the next five years.

Lozano’s ambition runs high, he has a very clear goal for the future as he revealed in a recent interview.

“For me, Messi is the best in the world,” said Lozano about Lionel Messi for Goal.  “It’s a shame he wasn’t there because I think he really stands out.”

“There are a lot of good players in the world, but I think hopefully – and if God allows it – I can at least be there fighting for the Ballon d’Or a bit someday,” Lozano stated.

“I think the most important thing is that the work you put in will give that to you, the day-to-day, always getting better, always learning and hopefully that moment will come.”

“Scoring in the Champions League was something marvelous. It’s something very beautiful,” he said about playing the continental tournament.

“I think after the World Cup, it’s the best tournament, and to experience it by playing against great teams, against great players, it’s really beautiful and something where I’ve learned a lot and enjoyed it to the max.”

“It’s a very beautiful thing to play in this shirt,” the winger added.

“I like it a lot. Since I got here, it’s been something marvelous, and honestly I’ve put in 100 percent for the club, in the matches, everything. I feel really good.”

Quiz: How much do you know about Philipp Lahm?

The DFB-Pokal semi-finals are scheduled for this week, so it is the perfect time to test your knowledge about Philipp Lahm - Bayern's legend who won six trophies in the competition.

“Since I arrived here, I’ve learned a lot and matured a lot football-wise. I think I’m still learning every training session, every game,” he continued.

“For me, it was a good thing to come here.”

There is still no clue to how big will Hirving Lozano become as a football player, all we know right now is that he already is one of the best players in Dutch football and he is currently at a high level in the continent.

The clubs that are currently interested in his services are Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Juventus FC, Arsenal FC, and Chelsea FC.

However, if Lozano becomes an Eredivisie champion for the second straight season, there is no way to tell how many clubs will be fighting to get this player for their ranks.

It’s okay to dream big as Hirving his doing, but reaching a level of performance that can be similar to Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo is something that very few players in the world can accomplish.

For now, we are willing to give ‘Chucky’ the benefit of the doubt and hope that he can reach a level of performance that can at least get him considered in the final 30-player list for the biggest individual award in world football.
