Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is unaware of any lucrative offer from China for star player Wilfried Zaha
The former Manchester United winger has been linked with a sensational £11m-a-year move to Dalian Yifang in the Chinese Super League.
The alleged deal will last for four years that will see Zaha earn a minimum of £44m in total after taxes.
But Hodgson claims to know nothing of it and doesn’t understand why a 26-year-old at the peak of his career, who recently signed a new long-term deal at Palace, would go to China.
“The speculation we have had so far I have got to say I find it hard to take seriously but who knows? Perhaps I shall be very surprised,” said Hodgson, according to Daily Mirror.
“I don’t know if you sign a new five-year contract in the Premier League and then go to China at the age of 26. But who knows? Perhaps I am naïve. Perhaps it does happen.
“All I do know is that no-one at the club knows anything at all about this story.”
Zaha, who’s managed three goals and one assist in 16 Premier League appearances this season, will likely start in Palace’s game against Chelsea on Sunday.
