Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has lauded the contribution of David Brooks after the 21-year-old scored a brace in their 2-0 win against Brighton on Saturday.
Brooks scored in each half to hand Bournemouth a convincing victory against 10-men Brighton, and his manager Howe was full of praise for his development at the club.
“They were two great goals from David. They were totally different from each other but he showed his quality in both moments,” Howe told the club’s website.
“We’ve been pleasantly surprised by his progress. We knew we were getting a very technical, intelligent player, but perhaps we didn’t know how good he was going to be for the team.
“He buys into the team ethic and the defensive component of the game. The tactical understanding of how we play, he has grasped very quickly so full credit to him for that.
“Also, the ability to handle the Premier League and not get carried away with early season success and to remain level-headed – that’s a huge bonus.
“He’s scoring important goals for us and that’s a great sign for the team.”
