AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe revealed he’s talked to Gianfranco Zola over his comments regarding Chelsea’s interest in Callum Wilson
Earlier this week, the Blues assistant coach praised Wilson and revealed that a striker of his quality will be of interest to many clubs, aside from Chelsea.
But Howe sought out for Zola for talks over his comments after Chelsea’s 1-0 Carabao Cup win against Bournemouth.
“I spoke to Gianfranco afterwards and yeah we had a little chat about that situation,” said Howe, according to Sky Sports.
“But Gianfranco is an incredible person and a really nice guy. And, you know, Callum from our perspective is a huge part of what we are doing here.”
Wilson has managed eight goals and five assists in 16 Premier League games for Bournemouth this term.
Bournemouth will face Brighton on Saturday, where they will hope to avoid a fourth straight defeat.
