Benedikt Howedes missed out on a free Ferrari at Juventus by one season.
He was never a key player but was still a part of a Scudetto winning side.
The German World Cup winner thoroughly enjoyed his time at Juventus.
Although he didn’t play much, in fact only three games in one year, he has no regrets.
In an interview with Goal though he does mention the fact if he had arrived one year sooner his reward for a Scudetto could have been a Ferrari,
“The year before I came, every player got a Ferrari as thanks for the championship.”
He was astounded by the humility of such successful superstars.
“The team spirit at Juve was phenomenal. I was extremely impressed by how the boys dealt with each other.
“Juventus is a big family, and I was completely respected and accepted.”
Although I did not play much, I was very much appreciated there as a person and a player.”
“Although both have already achieved everything and won countless titles, they are still hungry for success.”
“They want to be successful every day.”
“That impressed me.”
It’s not the first time that Ferrari has been the carrot at the end of the stick for the Bianconeri players.
