Callum Hudson-Odoi is more than likely to sign a new deal with Chelsea following the arrival of Frank Lampard who is keen to give the youngster a lot of chances.
Callum Hudson-Odoi was frustrated last season due to Maurizio Sarri’s insistence on not using the winger that often. The Italian tactician was stubborn about his stance and it almost resulted in the youngster signing for Bayern Munich.
Now that he is at Juventus, Hudson-Odoi can hope for a better turnaround. With Frank Lampard appointed as the club’s new manager and a transfer ban in effect, the youngster is going to get a lot of chances to showcase his full potential.
And while Bayern Munich haven’t completely given up on signing him, the English winger is set to sign a new contract according to The Express. With just a year left on his contract, Chelsea are keen on tying him down to a new deal.
Frank Lampard has already hinted that Hudson-Odoi would be an important part of his plans at Stamford Bridge next season. This vote of confidence may force the youngster into signing a new deal.
“I am not going to say things that are pie in the sky but, with his talent, he can be central to this team, he can be central to England,” Lampard said.
“He can show, right here at Chelsea, the team he came through the academy at, that he is going to be a world-class player – because I truly believe that.
“I will pay a lot of care and attention to Callum – because of the contractual position he is in – to try to get him to stay, and not with any lies or any false statements to him.
“That of course goes to a decision between him and the club and I am not involved in the financial negotiations, but I can certainly tell him how I see it and I see him being a huge player for us.”
