During a segment for ESPN, Hugo Sanchez stated that Antoine Griezmann would shine more at Barcelona than Eden Hazard in Real Madrid.
Despite being a Real Madrid legend, Hugo Sanchez doesn’t think Eden Hazard will be better with Los Blancos than Griezmann could be for Barcelona.
The Mexican legend spoke for ESPN this Wednesday after the world found out that Antoine Griezmann will leave Atletico Madrid this summer.
The former Real Madrid star already assumes that Antoine will sign a new contract with FC Barcelona and he even compared the Frenchman with Eden Hazard’s arrival to Real Madrid.
Sanchez is convinced that Antoine could shine a lot more as a Barcelona player than Eden Hazard will at Real Madrid.
The reasoning Hugo used to back his claim is that Griezmann will play alongside Lionel Messi and that will improve his performances with the Catalan club.
This statement is the latest in a long line of controversial claims that Sanchez makes when he speaks about Los Blancos.
We can’t forget that Hugo was the only manager who practically offered himself to Florentino Perez after Zinedine Zidane left the club last summer.
The ‘Pentapichichi’ doubled down on his proposal when he knew that Santiago Solari wasn’t going to continue at the club after failing to get the expected results.

Sanchez is a regular commentator and analyst for Mexican ESPN and he is still considered one of Real Madrid’s biggest legends.
Due to this status, he has as a former Los Blancos star. Sanchez thinks that he can offer his opinion and it will have a certain level of value to the world.
In his latest analysis about Real Madrid, the former player speaks about his former club as if it wasn’t going to succeed with the new project they are creating right now under Zinedine Zidane.
“Hazard will be very important for Real Madrid but Griezmann will shine even more at Barcelona,” said Sanchez on ESPN.
“Real Madrid didn’t complete a good season, it was utterly disappointing. Hazard is a great player who has a lot of talent and the highest quality, but the squad needs many more new players.”
“There has to be a revolution in regards to ambition, quality, and talent. Griezmann will arrive at Barcelona in a more comfortable environment because he comes to a squad that is well put together and working well.”
“Being next to Messi, Griezmann will be hopeful for what he can accomplish at Barcelona.”
“Hazard needs to get more support from other teammates in order to shine at Real Madrid. Otherwise, I don’t think he will be as good as Griezmann.”

What Hugo Sanchez and Griezmann have in common.
There is a good reason for Griezmann to get praised by Hugo Sanchez in this fashion, the Mexican striker has something in common with Antoine.
Both were Atletico Madrid stars and they both succeeded with the Colchoneros, they also decided to leave the club against the board’s will.
The difference between the two of them is that Sanchez transferred directly to Real Madrid, whereas Griezmann will likely play for Barcelona.
To this day, Hugo Sanchez is arguably the most hated former Atletico Madrid player in football history.
All the Colchoneros truly hate the Mexican striker for what he did, and also for the level of success he achieved when he played for Real Madrid.
The only way that Griezmann will be hated as much as Sanchez, is if he decides to become a player for Los Blancos in the near future.
For now, the Atletico fans are only heartbroken but they don’t hate Antoine.
In fact, the player was outside the stadium this Wednesday during the afternoon to sign hundreds of autographs.
During this meet and greet he had with the fans, everybody expressed their gratitude for the five years he played with the Colchoneros and the trophies he won there.
