Brazilian forward Hulk insists he still plans to make the move to Palmeiras at some point in his future, despite being content in China
Hulk currently plays for Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League and is contracted at the club until June 2020.
Since his arrival in 2016, Hulk has gone on to manage an impressive 51 goals and 43 assists in 87 appearances for Shanghai and captained the team to the CSL title this year.
In regards to rumours that he will be leaving Shanghai for Brazilian Serie A champions Palmeiras next year, Hulk dismissed them all together.
“There is always speculation about me and Palmeiras, precisely because of the affection I have for the team and I have made it clear I identify with Palmeiras,” said Hulk, according to Goal.
“It is a wish and desire of mine to return to play in Brazil, but it’s something that is a bit complicated to happen at the moment.
“I have two more years of my contract to see out at my club and I’m happy in China.”
After leaving Brazil in 2005, Hulk has since gone on to enjoy spells with the likes of Portuguese champions FC Porto and Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg.
The 32-year-old has also played in Japan for Kawasaki Frontale, Consadole Sapporo and Tokyo Verdy.
Aside from that, Hulk has represented Brazil at international with 11 goals in 47 appearances and featured at the 2012 Olympics, 2014 World Cup and 2016 Copa America.
