According to his agent, Elseid Hysaj was wanted by Valencia and Atletico Madrid but no agreement was reached and he will stay in the Serie A.
Albanian right-back Elseid Hysaj started his professional career in 2011 with Empoli in the Italian Lega Serie A.
And in 2015 he moved to Napoli, where he has been since.
But according to his agent Mario Giuffredi, they tried to transfer him out during the summer transfer window, with the possibility of him landing in either Valencia or Atletico Madrid.
“My objective was to take him away and I tried to the last second of the market to secure a transfer away from Napoli,” agent Mario Giuffredi was quoted by Football Italia.
“Unfortunately, for various reasons, the right conditions never materialized. Some opportunities arose, but they didn’t reach a conclusion.”
“Leaving him at Napoli was certainly not my intention, as I brought in Giovanni Di Lorenzo also to favor Hysaj’s sale, as I would never have left two of my players in the same team for the same position,” he added.
“Now we start from scratch. He has a contract until June 2021, he will respect it and be at the disposal of the coach.”
