The Brazilian footballer scored Real Madrid’s only goal in the 3-1 defeat against Bayern Munich yesterday in Houston.
Real Madrid was defeated 3-1 by Bayern Munich yesterday in Houston.
And while Los Blancos lost their first friendly of the season, they might have found themselves some consolation, as Rodrygo Goes proved he is a good freekick taker.
The Brazilian grabbed the ball and after kicking it, he put it in the top left-hand corner of the goal, scoring Los Merengues’ only goal.
“I always used to take freekicks at Santos,” he said according to Marca.
“That is why I asked to take it.”
“I am disappointed about the result, but I am very excited and happy to be here,” he added.
“It’s a dream for me to play for Real Madrid, who I believe is the best club in the world.”
The Brazilian explained: “[Zinedine] Zidane wants me to play more down the middle.”
“I am typically more used to operating on the wings, but that is what the coach wants.”
“It’s a position in which I am comfortable and enjoy,” he continued.
“I am not sure whether I will be playing in the first team yet.”
“It is up to Zidane and his staff to decide where best to utilize me. I am just focused on getting a good first pre-season under my belt,” Rodrygo concluded.
