The new Barcelona goalkeeper has been presented today to the media and fans, as he talks about the challenge of defending the Blaugrana shirt.
Ahead of his 30th birthday, Brazilian goalkeeper Neto has been given a great gift: he was presented today as the new Barcelona stopper.
“I come to Barça in my prime, as a goalkeeper, and as a person, and I think this is the best time for me,” Neto said at his official presentation to the media according to the club’s website.
“Rewards come for those who go looking for them, and I have worked hard for this one.”
He explained: “That is why I say I am very proud, satisfied, happy, and 100% ready for the challenge.”
“I know that he is a great goalkeeper, but I also think we can learn and grow together, and get better,” he said about his new teammate Marc-Andre ter Stegen
“I will work with professionalism, desire, and ambition. I can’t wait to get started.”
“I hope I can contribute to Barça,” Neto continued.
“I have come to try to leave my mark and be part of the history of this club. I will do everything I can to help my teammates and I want to win lots of titles for Barça’s fans.”
President Josep Maria Bartomeu said Neto was “a goalkeeper with great experience, but also a great person who wants to help the team through humility, motivation, and ambition.”
