Joachim Low feels Alexander Nubel’s transfer to Bayern Munich will work against him.

Bayern Munich had previously confirmed that they have secured the signing of Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Nubel on a free transfer. Nubel will join the Allianz Arena from the next season.

After agreeing on terms with Bayern, Alexander Nubel refused to renew his contract with Schalke saying that he insisted to let it run down till the end of the season.

As efficient as the deal sounds for both parties, Germany manager Joachim Low has questioned its sanctity.

Speaking at the New Year’s reception of the German Football League, Low deemed the 23-year old’s transfer futile. He claimed that Nubel was destined to warm the bench.

“Basically, I am a supporter of young players getting as much playing time as possible. That way they can develop better,” Low said as per Goal.

“If a player is 20 or 21 and sits on the bench for two or three years, I don’t know if that’s useful.”
