Kai Havertz continues to attract interest from European elites but has said he wouldn’t ruin his time at Leverkusen by discussing transfer speculations.
Many clubs are in the queue to sign Kai Havertz and the Leverkusen star could yet be one of the most wanted names in Europe this summer.
The 20-year-old showed why many clubs are all over him with another double for the second game in succession.
Havertz bagged a brace in his side’s 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday. He was also on target in Leverkusen’s first game back since the coronavirus as Werder Bremen were blown away by a 4-1 scoreline.
Rather than let that get to him, Havertz is focused on finishing the season with Leverkusen strong and with a clear head.
The 20-year-old also chose not to speak on transfer speculations, adding that he didn’t want to mess his time at the club by doing so.
Asked about the talk surrounding his situation after the match, Havertz told Sky Italia as cited by Goal: “I do not like to say, of course, that there is a lot of speculation.
“I’m concentrating on this season and will see what happens afterwards.
“I am very grateful to Leverkusen and I don’t want to mess it up in any way.”
Havertz added: “We’re happy about the win. We put it on ourselves to win here and we did that.
“We had to really give everything today and I think we deserved to win in the end.”
