The Croatian Under-21 international is taking the French Ligue 1 by storm and has shown a lot of skills with Girondins de Bordeaux.

22-year-old Toma Basic started his professional career in 2014 with Hajduk Split. He was loaned to Rudes and Hajduk Split B, before moving definitely to Bordeaux in French Ligue 1 in 2018.

And the midfielder has enjoyed his time with Girondins de Bordeaux.

“I prefer to play more offensive, you know because I want to score. I’m that type of player, but I’m very happy in this position too, to play, to create something from the back, and I have to improve that, that’s what I want,” Basic was quoted by the French Ligue 1 official website.

“It’s been difficult for me to lose so many games, but it’s the way to grow as a player too.”

He continued: “This season has been really really bad for us because we expected to reach Europe, that was the minimum goal but we didn’t do that.”

“The rhythm is very fast, you know. It’s fast football, strong football, I know that and I think I have adapted very well.”

“I can continue and I can grow here because this is a school. I hope that in the next season we can get much better results,” he concluded.

Bordeaux is in the 14th position of the Ligue 1 table with 38 points, thanks to nine victories, 11 draws, and 15 defeats.
