Quique Setien maintains Lionel Messi has not given any indication over his potential exit from FC Barcelona after this season.

FC Barcelona supporters were filled with a feeling of angst after reports recently surfaced that Lionel Messi is planning on bringing an end to his 16-year stay at the club.

Messi, as reports claimed, is deeply dejected with the recent turmoil at Camp Nou. And therefore, he has decided to depart the club the next summer after seeing out his current contract.

The validity of the claim remains to be a question but it was enough to send the Barca fans into a state of total panic.

Ahead of the Sunday’s trip to face Villarreal, Quique Setien was asked to give his views on stories on his star man’s potential exit.

“I’m not going to speculate on this, I haven’t heard anything from him. I have no record of such news,” Setien said [via Marca].

“I see him well. The rest is speculation that I do not even enter into.

“I see him training well, we talk about what we have to talk about, no more. He is perfectly aware of what he has to do at every moment in the match, he is not influenced by age. I see him exactly the same.”
