Celta started the season in an uncomfortable 14th place with only one win.

However, the team from Vigo have an ace up their sleeve. The club captain and their best player Iago Aspas is there to save them again.

The Spanish striker went five matches without a goal, a rare occurrence since he returned to Celta.

Aspas’ love for his boyhood club is well-known, as he almost single-handedly saved them from relegation last season.

Nor Real or Barca like to see Aspas on the other end, as he’s caused a lot of issues for Spanish giants over the last couple of seasons.

Even though he failed at Liverpool, Aspas has all the love in the world in his hometown.

Celta did a good job on the market this summer by bringing in big names such as Denis Suarez, Rafinha, Cheikh, and Santi Mina.

Aspas did a part in the recruitment process, as he said himself in an interview with Radio MARCA:

“I’ve always felt just as responsible.

“I’m trying to help my teammates. This year we have bought great players, which will be great for the future of the club.

“I helped, and with some I may have played a bigger role than others to get them to return.”We are a humble club that has made a great effort to bring in these great players.”

Celta will try to recover their form in the upcoming fixtures against Espanyol at home, and Eibar away.

Efficiency is a big problem for Celta, as they only scored three goals, and they look to their captain to end the drought.
