Mason Mount concluded the Premier League season in fine form and has been lauded by Ian Wright for his performances.
Frank Lampard was full of praise for Mount after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mount scored the first from a free-kick and then assisted Giroud for the second.
The win allowed the Blues to rest assure with Champions League football next season. They join Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United in the elite European club competition.
Mount has continued for Chelsea in the same vein he finished the last for Derby under Lampard. He scored six goals and laid down five assists in their qualification race.
Ian Wright was full of praise for the England international. Wright hailed him for the season he just had and believes he edges out Pulisic.
“For me, Mason Mount has been the outstanding Chelsea youngster that’s kicked on,” Metro reported Wright on Match of the Day.
“[Christian] Pulisic has to get a mention as well, but what Mason Mount’s done from the start of the season to now has to be recognised.
“‘I think he’s been absolutely magnificent for them.”
Mount’s season has not finished yet. Chelsea take on Arsenal in FA Cup final and then travel to Germany for their Round of 16 away leg fixture.
