LA Galaxy’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic completed a very important milestone in his professional career, he scored his goal 500 and he did it with his particular style.

Modern football only has three goal scorers who fit the profile of legendary, one of them is Zlatan Ibrahimovic who reached his 500th scream today and he did it in the most ‘Ibra’ way possible. There are only three players who have reached this number who are active players today, the other two are Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but Zlatan is right there next to those two monsters and he has never let anyone tell him either of them is better than him. In fact, Zlatan Ibrahimovic can even brag about scoring way more spectacular goals than either of those two players combined and today he crossed a milestone that puts him on the same conversation with those two as the three best players of the last 10 years in football. Zlatan wasn’t lucky enough with his squads but he is just as great a player as any other of football’s greatest, his only problem was being born in a country that doesn’t compete for trophies internationally and not being fortunate enough to win a Champions League throughout his career. But other than that, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is arguably the most spectacular goal-scorer in history or right up there with the likes of Marco van Basten or Hugo Sanchez.

But Zlatan reached this very important milestone with a not so happy set up because LA Galaxy lost this Saturday’s match against Toronto FC, which is one of the strongest clubs in the MLS right now. Zlatan scored the first of three goals his side got as the California side was already down 3-0, but the way he scored it is some next level stuff, it brought back some of the fondest memories of the goals Zlatan got us all used to during his amazing career in Europe. Jonathan dos Santos sent him a floated pass which he caught in mid-air with his back against the keeper, and just karate kicked the hell out of that ball to give us a true work of art. It couldn’t have been in any other way, the Classic Zlatan way. This goal he scored was good enough to motivate his squad to get back in the game and even got to equalize it through goals by Ola Kamara and Rolf Feltscher who scored his first ever MLS goal in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s special night as a professional. But in the end, Toronto FC got to score another two goals which left Galaxy with no chance of getting back in the game and staying away from the playoffs for the time being.

But despite this new heartbreak for Zlatan, there is a lot to celebrate this Saturday because he is only one in three players who are still active to have reached 500 goals throughout their career. As we explained in a previous article, this is an achievement that only a select group of under 30 players have managed to accomplish in football history and Zlatan is just as legendary as each of these players. Plus, we can’t forget that when it comes to acrobatic goals there is hardly anyone better than Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he just reminded us today. That unique capability for scoring spectacular goals is because of his Tae Kwon Do background, Ibrahimovic loves this martial art and he has stated in the past that it has helped him develop better ways of scoring beautiful goals as we probably have enjoyed throughout his career. But in order to remind you of this unmatched skill that he has, we will give you a video of his all-time best goals down below for you to replay as many times as you want from this moment forward. Whenever you feel sad about something, just come to this appreciation article and play Zlatan goals so you can get that smile back on your face. You won’t regret it, we promise. 😉
