Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed in a press conference that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is close to returning to action for the Premier League side

Ibrahimovic joined United in the summer of 2016 and immediately got to grips with the demands of the Premier League with the Swede scoring an impressive 28 goals in 46 appearances for the Old Trafford side. However in a Europa League game against Belgium side Anderlecht, Ibrahimovic sustained serious ligament damage in his right knee and was ruled out untill at least the end of the 2016/17 season.

After proving his fitness, Ibrahimovic was resigned by United and made his return for the club back in November in the 4-1 victory over Newcastle United. However the 36 year-old fell to injury again and has been recuperating.

“The squad is good, everything is fine,” said Mourinho, according to the club website.

“Eric Bailly and Daley Blind are the two players that are out. Zlatan started training with the team two days ago, so two days with the group and improving. We are fine.”

Ibrahimovic last played in the boxing day game against Burnley, while Blind has not played since their FA cup win over Derby County back in January.
