Manchester United’s star striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has suffered a horrific injury in their last Europa League game against Anderlecht. The Swedish striker fell awkwardly after an aerial challenge, twisting his knee in the process.

Although United fans were hoping that the injury was not too serious and Luke Shaw gave assurances that the striker was fine, early medical reports have shown the contrary. Ibrahimovic is suspected to have torn his ACL, injury that will rule him out for the remainder of the season.

Vincent Kompany looking at Tottenham flop

Vincent Kompany is eager to end Vincent Janssen’s misery at Tottenham Hotspur as the Manchester City legend eyes his first move. Now that he is...

This comes as a huge blow for Manchester United, as the Reds won’t be able to use their star striker for the games against Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham in their bid to reach a Champions League position at the end of the Premier League season.

But maybe even more worrying than the games that Ibrahimovic will miss this season, is his current situation at Old Trafford. The Swede is yet to have signed a contract extension with the Red Devils and with the current deal expiring in the summer, this injury adds even more uncertainty to his future.

If interest from MLS intensifies in the next period, Thursday’s game against Anderlecht could prove to be Ibrahimovic’s last game for Manchester United.
