Mauro Icardi scores again, as his goal is the difference between PSG and resilient Club Bruges.

A single goal was all PSG could muster up against Belgian side Club Bruges.

Luckily for Thomas Tuchel and company, Mauro Icardi’s 22nd-minute goal was enough to get all three points.

Kylian Mbappe’s low cross was missed by Angel Di Maria but Icardi was following in behind to score with ease from close range.

The victory also secures the Parisian side’s place in the knock out stages.

The hosts were almost undone though in the second half when PSG’s Thiago Silva upended Diagne.

Fortunately, though for the French Champions Diagne’s penalty was comfortably saved by Navas in goal.

Thiago Silva conceded a second-half penalty but Mbaye Diagne’s tame effort was comfortably saved by Keylor Navas.

Thomas Tuchel is under immense pressure after his sides Ligue 1 loss to Dijon.

According to PSG’s official statistics, the Belgians actually had more shots on target than they did. Two for PSG and three for Bruges

This result was not convincing, but it was enough.

If Tuchel fails to make past the first knockout round, he may find himself out of a job.
