Mauro Icardi insists that the media create a false image of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, he reveals what his teammates are really like.
Brazilian footballing genius Neymar has become synonymous with making the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
From parties during the middle of the football season to petulant arguments with his teammates and the club’s coaching staff. The player has also apparently tried to force a transfer away from the French giants and subsequently caused unrest within the PSG dressing room.
However, Argentine forward Mauro Icardi who spent the last season on loan at the club before making the switch permanent insists that the media are not telling the truth.
Speaking to France Football he vehemently defends both his teammates.
“People may see it differently from the outside, but the reality is completely different.”
“We all know very well what kind of footballer Neymar is, and when you really know the man, you can only get along with him because he’s someone very different from the media reports.”
“He’s a team-mate who doesn’t hesitate to make sure that others feel good. This is the state of mind we need.”
“Great players are the first to set an example. He’s a guy who’s always happy and gets along really well with everyone. He has humility.”
“It’s important to be yourself because, in the end, we’re like a big family that spends almost every day together. His good humor makes us feel good every day.”
“Everything I told you about Ney also applies to Mbappe. He’s a guy who is still young but has already achieved great things. He is extremely mature for his age. His behavior also contributes to the good atmosphere there is within the group.”
Regardless of what the papers say, there is no doubt a fit Neymar and Mbappe could lead PSG to Champions League glory.
