Odion Ighalo is winning the race to be fit for United’s next game as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms he will be a part of the traveling squad.

Odion Ighalo was a last-minute loan transfer to Manchester United from the Chinese Super League. It appears that the payer is winning the race to be fit in time to possibly make his debut against Chelsea next Monday.

The player’s fitness has been a cause for concern given it is off-season in China. Add to that the coronavirus issues, which meant the player has been unable to attend the team’s winter training camp in Spain.

There has been plenty of media hype regarding his personal efforts to get match fit despite being left behind in Manchester.

Now his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed in an interview with the club’s official website manutd.com that Ighalo is winning the race and will at least be part of the traveling squad.

He said:

“Yeah, he is going to travel with us.”

“We will just see his fitness work this week and I think we will get him sharp.”

“We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us.”

United have a busy up and coming schedule, which includes, FA Cup ties and the Europa League.

Ighalo has been added to the United squad for the European competition too.
