Odion Ighalo scored his first goal for Manchester United and dedicated it to his late sister.
Ighalo who is a life long United fan made his dream move on loan to United this winter from the Chinese Super League.
He had made a couple of brief substitute appearances before last night and missed a couple of opportunities in the process.
But last night in an interview, according to Goal, was a special occasion.
“It was a great moment, I have been waiting for this since making my debut.”
“I have it now and it starts my goal career here at the team I have supported since I was a little boy.”
“It is a dream come true and I thank God for that. “
In celebration of his goal, the Nigerian international raised his shirt to reveal a tribute to his late sister.
Mary Atole suddenly passed away in December.
“I promise myself that every goal I score I will dedicate to her [his late sister].”
“So she is up there watching me and doing well for MUFC.”
