Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists Odion Ighalo will not be traveling to the Spanish training camp along with the Manchester United team.
Following Marcus Rashford’s injury, Manchester United completed a last-minute panic move to land Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua in January.
But the Nigerian international will have to wait to train alongside his new teammates.
Manchester United earlier announced that they were organizing a training camp in Marbella in the winter break. And manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently informed that Odion Ighalo will remain in Manchester in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak in China due to which the UK might prevent him from entering the country if he was to leave.
“Odion will stay in Manchester because he arrived from China in the last 14 days,“ Solskjaer told MUTV.
”Because of the situation in China, we’re not sure if he’d be allowed back into England if he leaves the country again. So, he’s staying here working with a personal coach, individual program, and his family. Then, he can settle in England as well. That’s a plus.
“Of course he might have liked to have come with the players and got to know them. But the risk [of potential border restrictions tightening], we don’t want to take that.”
