Lucien Favre is excited with Erling Braut Haaland’s start after his phenomenal performance against Augsburg.
Erling Haaland heroically saved Borussia Dortmund from losing out to Augsburg in his debut match moments after coming off of the bench.
Borussia Dortmund were 3-1 down in the match just as Haaland replaced Lukasz Piszczek. In almost just 30 minutes, the 19-year old completely changed the phase of the game as he scored a brilliant hat-trick to turn the tie in his side’s favor.
Borussia Dortmund head coach Lucien Favre was ecstatic to see his new signing start his life exceptionally well in his new colors. Favre explained that Haaland’s arrival meant he can experiment with new tactics with his team while assuring that the Norwegian striker will grow in his abilities.
“He has started very well,” Favre told Sky Sports.
“He immediately showed his strengths with his runs in behind. And, of course, he scored three goals which is incredible.
“He moves well between the lines, which gives us another way of attacking. He was very good and did very well,” the Dortmund boss explained.
“At 19 years old, he has a huge potential for improvement. That’s the most important thing. It was a crazy game.”
