Andres Iniesta feels Barcelona should have been more respectful towards Ernesto Valverde.

Xavi Hernandez earlier confirmed that Barcelona officials have been in contact with him regarding a possible take over at the club as soon as at the end of the month.

Ernesto Valverde’s position might have been a subject of debate for a long time. But Barcelona’s dismissal from the Spanish Super Cup seems to have really stirred it.

Barcelona have been in open discussion to replace the Spaniard. And while many may agree, Andres Iniesta begs to differ.

Former Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta feels the club could have been more respectful towards their coach. Speaking to Ondo Cero, Iniesta claimed that he and Valverde had a good relationship.

“What comes to my mind a little, if all this is so, is that the way everything is being done is a bit ugly,” he said.

“I think that there should always be respect for the coach. The boss’s situation position has been left very weakened.

“My relationship with the boss is very good. During the year we have been talking some times. Really beyond whether we like the coach or not, I think the situation is not pleasant for anyone: the coach, the team or the fans.”
