After knowing that Neymar’s injury may take him back to the operating room, Brazil manager ‘Tite’ revealed that he may even miss the Copa America.
Terrible news for Neymar and Brazil, the national team that will host this year’s Copa America might miss out on the PSG star due to his most recent metatarsal injury.
Last year as we all know, the star fell injured with a fracture on exactly the same area where he recently suffered the new setback.
Everybody was trying to keep the results of his latest tests a secret, but L’Equipe was able to get a hold of the results and the news are very bad for both his club and country.
Even though Paris Saint-Germain is trying to avoid the player from going under the knife again, it appears that there will be no choice for him and there will be a new surgery that will set him back for at least two months.
This means that after getting surgery, Neymar will have to take a recovery period that effectively leaves him out of any competition with PSG and he will most likely miss the two matches against Manchester United in the Champions League.
But that’s not all, this problem seems to go even deeper than only a few months of not playing football for his club.
Manager ‘Tite’ spoke to the press from Paris on Monday to talk about the situation in detail, the expectations are not good.

Brazil’s main objective this year will be to win the upcoming Copa America that will be celebrated in their own country, they had Neymar as their biggest star for the competition but manager ‘Tite’ is having second thoughts about calling up the PSG star for the competition.
Knowing how bad the result was from last year’s World Cup for Brazil, the boss revealed that he won’t call Neymar for the tournament if he thinks risking him isn’t necessary.
‘Tite’ is aware that Brazil currently has a lot of great players who have the skills to replace Neymar if the star cannot get to the Copa America at the top of his game, he would prefer to leave him resting at home instead of risking his fresh injury once again.
“PSG have taken a conservative approach towards the injury,” said ‘Tite’ to the press in Paris via Diario AS.
“They [PSG] called Dr Lasmar, and other specialists are going to come,” he added.
“Only then will they decide about what to do with his foot. It seems right to me that there is caution at this moment.”
“Neymar will not pay the price at the cost of his health,” his manager said.
“I will lose my job, but I’m not going to put the responsibility onto his shoulders by calling him [while injured].”

The clock has already started ticking for Neymar, he will do everything in his power to not last too long in recovery and make it all the way to the Copa America in his country.
As far as the reports tell us, a decision of whether the player gets surgery or not hasn’t been made yet and any news on the matter will be published on this website as soon as we know that will happen.
Neymar is currently resting at his house in Paris, he is not yet scheduled to travel to Brazil for any second opinion from any doctor because the Brazil National Team’s medical staff has traveled to France in order to assess the situation.
This might be the perfect opportunity for other young players such as Vinicius Junior or Lucas Paqueta to make their debut with the senior squad, they will have to take over during the time that Neymar gets fully recovered from his latest injury.
Paris Saint-Germain will have to make do without Neymar for now, they have Cavani and Mbappé to cover his absence but not even they might be enough to compete against Manchester United.
