Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring for Inter after his long-range speculative shot took a monstrous deflection off Cistana’s outstretched leg.
The ball flew up and over a stranded Alfonso in the Brescia goal.
23 Minutes on the clock and Antonio Conte’s men were up and running.

The visitors should have then gone on to take control of the game.
Instead, they allowed the home team to creep back in and rile up the partisan crowd.
Mario Balotelli who had a game to forget at the weekend no less than two clear opportunities to score within five minutes of the restart.
But for some heroics from Handanovic in the Inter goal things could have been very different.
Even though Brescia continued to press, it was Inter that scored.
Man of the hour, Romelu Lukaku scored to double Inters lead.
After being fed the ball by Gagliardini, Lukaku goes on a run, cutting in from out wide.
He lets rip and thunderous shot from distance, which is unstoppable. It bursts into the top left-hand corner.

Balotelli continued to be Brescia’s biggest threat, but Handanovic was simply his nemesis today.
Brescia did get some hope of getting something out of the game, when with 15 minutes to go Skriniar attempts to block a Tonali shot, only to deflect the ball past his own keeper.
Brescia 1 – 2 Inter Milan, was how it ended.
Brescia can take some solace in a solid performance, that was only thwarted by some goalkeeping heroics.
According to the clubs official website inter.it, he was the man of the match.
Inter will, on the other hand, will not be thrilled with the performance, but surely have grown in confidence.
These hard-fought cold nights where you grind out the undeserved results are often what wins titles.
It will feel good for Antonio Conte and his team to finally sit at the top of Serie A once more.
