Alexis Sanchez has been diagnosed with a thigh injury and is expected to miss the Europa League semi-final between Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk.
Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of action with a thigh injury.
The Chilean has been unlucky with a couple of injuries in his debut season with Inter.
Sanchez has been on stellar form since the restart of football, putting in a number of praise-worthy performances.
The 31-year-old was in action for the Nerrazzuri when they ran out 2-1 winners against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League quarter-finals.
During the game, Sanchez appeared to take a knock and the latest update from Inter suggests he could miss out on their semi-final fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk on Monday.
“Alexis Sanchez underwent medical tests this morning in Duisburg after suffering an injury during our match against Bayer Leverkusen” a statement said on the club’s website.
“The tests confirmed that he has suffered a strain in his right hamstring. His condition will continue to be reassessed over the next few days.”
The Chilean recently joined Inter on a permanent deal after terminating his contract with Manchester United.
Antonio Conte recently heaped praise on Sanchez and still believes the 31-year-old can play a major role for Inter.
