Inter Milan could only draw 0-0 with Roma and miss the chance to go four points clear of Juventus at the top of Serie A.
With Juventus not playing until tomorrow night, Inter’s Friday night game at home to Roma was a chance to extend their lead at the top of Serie A.
Unfortunately, they were unable to do so, and as the scoreline suggests it was a game that offered very little in terms of quality attempts on goal.
But credit must be given to Chris Smalling and company who put on a solid defensive display.
For Roma, it will be a well-earned point on the road, but Antonio Conte will see it as two points dropped for his Scudetto title challenging side.
Juventus face third-placed Lazio away tomorrow.
Inter will be hoping they can do them a favor and stop Maurizio Sarri’s men regaining the top spot.
