Inter Milan cruised past Cagliari in the Coppa Italia with Romelu Lukau showing off with two goals and Alexis Sanchez making a rare start.

It was an easy nights work for Inter Milan as they eased their way past Cagliari in the Coppa Italia.

The night got off to an amazing start for former United striker Lukaku who got goal number one in just 21 seconds.

Lukaku was alert to a sloppy pass and pounced to make it 1-0.

Borja Valero doubled the lead 21 minutes later.

The visitors rode out the first half and were able to hang on and keep the score respectable.

The second half saw Belgian Lukaku strike quick again. Only four minutes in after the restart and he had his second and his side’s third.

Cagliari pulled one back in the 72nd minute through Oliva as he tried to make amends for his first-minute howler.

But it was too little too late as they never really looked in the tie from the first whistle.

Antonio Conte’s men wrapped proceedings up with a headed goal from Andrea Ranocchia.

The final score Inter Milan 4 – 1 Cagliari.

Inter secure a spot in the Coppa Italia quarter finals.

Alexis Sanchez who made a rare start for Inter managed to play 69 minutes. It was his first start in over three months.

The Chilean put in a good performance, but all the headlines will be about fellow forward Romelu Lukaku.
